As we celebrate the love month, the Chinese New Year and the end of Midterms for students, we would like to pay homage to the old person who has never read any of my blogs and has always made sure that I know how much cholesterol intake I get on a daily basis. His list is very interesting, given his age. LOL! (I'm so loving it when I could just bash him knowing that he can't get even. Hahaha!) Oh well, this is supposed to be my gift for his birthday so I will try to be nice. Try is the word, but I can't promise. Hahaha!

MUMOMOMENT HIT# 6 THE MAN WHO CAN'T BE MOVED by THE SCRIPT

I know my bestfriend is really cheesy and all but I didn't know he is that cheesy. I've got to admit, this one nails it all. :)

FAVE LINES: Some try to hand me money, they don't understand | I'm not broke I'm just a broken hearted man | I know it makes no sense, but what else can I do | How can I move on when I'm still in love with you

THE SCRIPT FACTS: Amidst autotune and live singing issues, I still find this band an amazing one because of their poetry. You can definitely feel the soul of their music through their lyrics.

Mark on their new album #3: "I haven’t played it for anybody and I need a minute with that song. I can’t even tell you if it is a good song or not. It’s a page from my diary, I produced and wrote it but I have to walk away from it. It is just a weird one. It is a touchy subject for me – I lost both my parents quite young and it was a real dark point in my life. Like Danny said, it is something I have never talked about until now. I don’t know if we will ever find the right moment to play that live at all. I can’t even picture playing it live because it is so personal."

MUMOMOMENT HIT# 5 SMOKE ON THE WATER by DEEP PURPLE

Now, there's age! Hahaha!

FAVE LINES: No matter what we get out of this | I know I know we'll never forget | Smoke on the water and fire in the sky | Smoke on the water...

DEEP PURPLE FACTS:  The English band was formed in 1968 considered to be one of the pioneers of heavy metal and modern hard rock. "Smoke On The Water" song is a true story based on how a Swiss casino burnt down during a Frank Zapper and Mothers of Intervention concert in 1971. Russian president Dmitry Medvedev is a big fan of Deep Purple. He has all albums of the band.

MUMOMOMENT HIT# 4 CHASING CARS by SNOW PATROL

Who doesn't like Snow Patrol? :) You may not be a fan, but I know that you bumped into this song one moment in your life and got the point. ^_^

FAVE LINES: All that I am | All that I ever was | Is here in your perfect eyes | They're all I can see

SNOW PATROL FACTS: Snow Patrol’s debut album Songs For Polarbears was a critical success but a commercial flop. The single Chasing Cars, taken from the album Eyes Open, was a massive hit both in the UK and the US. It was used in the season finale of US medical show Grey’s Anatomy and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rock Song.

MUMOMOMENT HIT# 3 YELLOW by COLDPLAY

One of my all-time favorites, Yellow shows deep affection. Well, I'm a lyric geek so the words matter. :)

  

FAVE LINES: Your skin, oh yeah, your skin and bones | Turn into something beautiful | D'you know? | For you I bleed myself dry | For you I bleed myself dry

COLDPLAY FACTS: The band wrote Yellow and co-produced it with British record producer Ken Nelson for their debut album, Parachutes (2000). The song's lyrics are a reference to band vocalist Chris Martin's unrequited love. Oh, that's why Mo Twister loves this band!

MUMOMOMENT HIT# 2 LIKE A STONE by AUDIOSLAVE

I was not a big fan of Audioslave but if I were to marry someone, it's either Brandon Boyd or Chris Cornell. <3

FAVE LINES: For all that I've blessed | And all that I've wronged | In my dreams until my death | I will wander on

AUDIOSLAVE FACTS: Critics initially described Audioslave as an amalgamation of Soundgarden and Rage Against The Machine, but by the band's second album, Out of Exile, it was noted that they had established a separate identity. Audioslave disbanded in February 2007 when Cornell issued  a statement announcing that he was permanently leaving the band "due to irresolvable personality conflicts as well as musical differences."

Oh well...

MUMOMOMENT HIT# 1 ENTER SANDMAN by METALLICA

It was one of my uncles who exposed me to Metallica when I was young. So that makes my best friend like an uncle to me, no? Wahahaha!

FAVE LINES: Something's wrong, shut the light | Heavy thoughts tonight | And they aren't of snow white

METALLICA FACTS: The band is considered to be one of the founding "big four" of thrash metal alongside Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax. Metallica was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009. The band was ranked by MTV as the third greatest heavy metal band in history, was listed 5th on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock and was number 1 on VH1's 20 Greatest Metal Bands list. March 7, 1999 is the official Metallica Day in San Francisco.
